  1. About one hundred years ago there lived in Dunboyne a famous runner named Collier. This day his master told him he was to go to the fair of Ballinasloe. He was told to start nine days before the fair. His master started eight days before in his chariot, and Collier started the evening before the fair. Collier ran across the fields and he reached Ballinasloe before his master.
