  1. Local Schools. (From Sir Henry Sidney's Report in 1576.) Parish schools
    1. Creekstown (Crickstown)
    School was held in the chapel about 30 children were taught in it daily.
    2. Skryne - a parochial school aided by a yearly donation from the rector who gives a house and a garden, rent free - another school at Ross, aided by an annual gift from Earl Ludlow.
    3. Rathfeigh - four miles from Curraha - About 40 children are educated in a private school (Lewis' Topographical Dictionary - Page 497)
