  1. Old Graveyards
    There are two graveyards in this parish, one in Ratoath and one in the townland of Killegland in the parish of Ashbourne.
    They are still in use.
    Catholics and Protestants are buried in the Catholic churchyard as there is no Protestant churchyard in ratoath.
    Killigland churchyard is round and there are small palm trees and big beech trees growing in it.
    A priest name Rev Michael Plunkett, who acted as a Bishop, is buried there.
    He was buried in Killegland and a tombstone was erected over his grave.
    It is a plain, big stone and writing in Latin on it, and a cross but there is no date.
    There is a graveyard in Balymadun and there is also a vault in it. The oldest tomb in it is dated 1444. There
