- Cures from wells.
St Seachnaills well in a field called the Meenus. The clay of this well is supposed to cure for sore sore eyes and legs. St John's well in Warrenstown has a cure for coughs and sore eyes in the water. It is said that if you get a worm called God's horse and put it in a bag and tie it around your neck, when it dries the sickness leaves you. This cures the whooping cough.
To cure a sty. Get ten gooseberry thorns and point nine to the sty and throw the tenth away.
