- Ancient Crafts 8-11-37Collected by John WoodroofeThere was a bakery in Dunshaughlin. It was owned by Laurence Canning R.I.P. I don't know how long he is dead. His wife is alive now. She doesn't live in Dunshaughlin now. She owned a shop in Dunshaughlin. The bakery was in the same house. A man named John Blake, told me that he and all the boys even used to buy penney buns every evening going home from school. I think it ended between 1916 and 1920. There was a man named John Burbon. He was a basketmaker. He lived in a thatched publichouse. He used to make a lot of baskets. He often repaired a basket chair for my mother. He is dead now. I don't know his age. They always called him Jack the Bally.(continues on next page)
