    For whooping cough
    1. Put a frog in a saucepan and spit on him every time you cough.
    2. Get three hairs of an ass and keep them under you chin. First give the ass bread and if there is any left over give it to a child.
    3. Get a woman whose maiden name was the same as her husband's and get her to make brown bread. Eat the brown bread.
    4. Tie a "God's Horse" in a bag and hang the bag round your neck.
