  1. A large stone at Slane well was once removed by the Cunningham family and put to some use in the farmyard. Next morning it was back again in its original place.
    They also tried to close up to the well but the water sprang up in a different spot.
    About 12 years ago Tom Neil was almost blind. He visited this holy well in Slane bathed his eyes in the water, prayed to the Blessed Virgin with the result that his sight was almost fully restored.
    He visits the well almost every year since on 15th August.
