  1. [Hegdge )?] Hedge schools did exist in the district. They were called nothing else only hedge schools. Mrs Clark was one of the teachers that was teaching in the hedge schools in the district. I do not know wheither they were strange teachers or not. School was carried on in the farmers houses and under the bushes. The teachers did lodge in the houses. I do not know what subjects were taught in the hedge schools Irish was spoken by master and pupils
