    (1) A cure for momps in the throat is to walk round a pig sty three times.
    (2) The cure for worms in children is to get the bark of a young ash tree and boil well, and then drink the water.
    (3) The cure for kidney disease is to get leaves from a broom tree and boil them well, and then drink the water.
    (4) A cure for sore eyes is to get house leeks and press through a morter and some thick cream and apply as an ointment.
    (5) The cure for a sick stomach is the white of an unboiled egg well beaten and a half glass of boiled water cooled down and a little bit of salt mixed.
    (6) A cure for ring-worm is red pessipet powder and lard mixed, and then applied on the affected parts.
    (7) A cure for a burn is linseed oil and lime-water mixed.
    (8) The cure for the whooping cough is the blessed
