- At Easter the children used to go around for a clúdach and usually get eggs. On Hallow'een children used to eat colcannon and some would leave their brother's clothes and put food on them. The brother (who would be dead) was supposed to come and eat it at night.
- One night Paddy Reynolds - son of James Reynolds - went asleep in the same room as the Big Fellow (Jim Mullen RIP was called this name). He brought his mattress up and put it on the floor of Jim's Room to the right of the hall door. He had a habit of putting his watch out beside him
