    Unlucky month to get married.
    It is said that May is an unlucky month in which to get married. It is an old saying; Married in may and you'll rue the day.
    Marriage Customs.
    It is an old custom to hang an old shoe or boot or horse-shoe on the back of the car of the bride and bridegroom for good luck.

    Never cast a clout till May is out.
    You can bring a horse to the water but you can't make it drink.
    See a pin and pick it up it is sure to bring you good luck. See a pin and let it lie, poor you be until you die.
