    Cure for the Sore Throat
    Long ago the old people used to put a piece of fat bacon in a piece of red flannel. When they had a sore throat they would wrap this around the throat and it used to cure them.

    Christy Macken used to plant potatoes in a stocking. Some people asked him why he used to do this. He (Christy) said that the stocking would keep out the frost from the potatoes.
