  1. The Bell Hill wrecked at Gormanstown.
    It was a cargo boat. It was blown by a storm on to the rocks at Ben head. In the cargo were blankets etc. Some of those on board tied themselves to the rigging, the others were washed overboard and drowned.
    A big fire was lighted on Benhead to let the survivors
