    There are three holes in the fields belonging to Mrs Filgate where they used to steep the flax grown, in Kilbrickstown and Stedalt.

    One of the steeping holes is in the Mountain field. One in the Lawn field and one in the mill-race.

  2. In the years when Cromwell was in Ireland it is said he once visited Mosney.
    Here a battle took place, and a great number were slain.
    The blood of the slain mingled with the water of the mill race which drove the mill, and from that out the mill was known as "Mill Murdery".
