  1. My native place is Bellewstown, the reason why it is called so is, Lord Bellew used to live in Bellewstown house, and that is how it got its name. It is situated South of Drogheda. There are up to one hundred people living in it. There are two shops, a school, a post office, and a chapel, There is a racecourse which many horses graze on, and also two days racing are held on the first and second day of July. Cromwell tied his horse to a bush and it is called Cromwell's bush. The Volunteers sheltered in our chapel before it was roofed and other skeletons and skulls were found in the gardens about.
