    There are many games played in the district the following being school games - Ringers, Town-ball, Stuck, Queenie, Donkey, Grandmothers steps, Trade, Red Rover, Skipping, Rabits, Nuts in May, Wallflowers, Hide and Seek, Gate - tig, Dan Dan thread the needle, Rolling Tobacco, In and out go the frosty bluebells, This little girl of mine, Frog in the well, Blind man buff, Here comes a gypsy riding, Hell Heaven and Purgatory, Birds, Colours, Four cornered fool, Pearsley and Parsley, Giant Steps, Carry a lady to London, Drop the handkerchief, I spy, Ghost in the garden, Tug - o - war, Wady Buckety, Half past, Make the Beds, The little moccasins, and Hide the bottle.
    The games played with a ball are: Town - ball, Ringers, Stuck, Donkey and Queenie. The Summer games consist of Ringers, Stuck, Nuts in May, Red-Rover, Rabbits and Gate - Tig.
    Town Ball. Town ball is played in the following manner. Two teams are called and these two are in opposition to each other. A penny is then tossed to see which of them will be in first. A mark is put across the playground and behind
