  3. A Stye on the Eye
    A stye on the eye can be cured by gooseberry thorns. Get 10 gooseberry thorns and make the sign of the Cross on the eye with nine of them and throw the tenth one across the right shoulder.
    This must be done for 3 mornings in succession, and the person who does it must have both his parents living.
