    Miss Margt. Gogarty, Donore Rd., Drogheda, has the cure of the whitlow. She makes a poultice of herbs which when applied gives great relief, and after a few applications the whitlow disappears.

    Blue is used to cure the sting of a wasp.

  3. A bad pain in the back can be relieved by making a plaster of mustard and putting it over the painful part. The mustard raises a blister and takes out any bad water that may be in the back.

  4. A sore throat can be relieved by roasting some salt, putting it in a woolen stocking, and placing the stocking around the neck.
