  1. John Drudrum's Hole at Staleen, Donore, Drogheda.
    John Drudrum who lived at Staleen, was a breadman. He used to drive a bread-cart down Staleen Road. One day he was thrown from the bread-cart and killed instantly. It is said that there is a ghost at the pool every night.

  2. The "Curly Hole" is a very deep and treacherous part of the Boyne about half a mile up from the Obelisk. It got its name because of the number of whirlpools which make it extremely dangerous for swimmers.
