- In the year 1902 there was a bad thunder storm and serious damage was done in many places.
In our district a rick of straw belonging to Mr. McConnell of Sheephouse was struck by lightning and burnt to ashes.
The same day there was a funeral coming down Pass Hill and one of the horses in the hearse was struck by lightning. There was a man counting his stock on the hill of Tullyallen and he was killed by lightning. - There was a big storm in 1903. It was nearly as bad as the Big Wind of 1839. Almost every tree in the wood along the Boyne was blown down. It also knocked down houses and telegraph poles.
