  1. The old house is situated on the banks of the Boyne a few miles outside Drogheda. There is a very old legend with it.
    Long ago when the misstess died the butler knew she had valuable rings on her fingers and he went to the vault to get them. He could not get them off. In doing so he cut his misstress finger and to his horror she sat up and began to look around her. In terror the butler ran away and was never seen or heard of again. It is said that he never stopped till he got on board a ship.
