    The following are the names of the fairy forts or aults situated in the parish of Collon, in the barony of Ferrard Co. Louth. Crocanalish, Shears's Ault, Hungry Hall, Drumbo, Carrickanane and Mount Oriel.
    Stories.
    No.1 There was an old woman living in Collon, who was in the habit of cutting bushes for firewood. In Shears's Ault on a mound a lone bush grew. The people told the woman not to go near the bush. One day as she was going by it she said to herself its all only nonsens. So she got the saw and began cutting it, as it was falling a thorn of the bush struck her in the eye and injured her sight. She atended the doctor and he sent her to a Dublin Hospital for treatment. All cures were
