one river running past, the Mattock. It runs on out the the river Boyne at Drogheda.
There are about five hundred people in this village, the oldest families in it are the Fleming and the Allens. Jimmy Mc Connon, Jimmy Emerson, and Lizzie Bingham, are all over seventy years of age, and are good story tellers.

The name of the district in which I reside is Kellystown. It got its name from the Kellys, who lived there some years ago.
It is in the parish of Monknewtown Slane and there are about twenty families living in the place.
The most common family name is Marry and it is a family of that name who occupy Kellystown House
