Belpatrick is the townland in which I live,. Altogether there is about twenty eight families living in this townland. A tributary of the Dee river flows at the back of our house, and to the east side of it a tributary of the Mattoch flows.
It is in this townland that the district called the "Leaby" is, some say that there was once a graveyard in it and that is how it derived its name, while others say it is from a piece of ground called labog, which passes through the centre of the district.
