Monasterboice, in this district has the ruins of a tower and small church. It is about three miles to it and an underground tunnel leads to it in William Bellew's garden this tunnel opens up in Monasterboice Tower. Another tunnel in Andrew Brooks garden. It is thought that it was the monks had it for taking their valuables to the tower in the time of the lanes. It has also a lovely cross.
Mellifont about four miles from here, is a very interesting place with it's various pieces of carved stone.
The hermitage where a monk used live is up in the Oriel Temple.
