A rainbow at morn is a sailor's warn.

    (continued from previous page)
These are the lines of an old rhyme dealing with the weather. When the easten sky is red in the morning it is a sign of a windy and a rainy day, and when the westen sky is red in the evening, it is a sign of a warm day following. When swallows fly low to the ground it is a sign of rain.
When wasps make their nests low down on a river bank it is a sign of a dry season, but when they make it high up it is a sign of a wet season. When bees are seen buisily gathering honey it is a sign of a coming rainstorm and when swallows are seen flying low at night it is also a sign of approaching rain. Curlews, when they are heard calling loudly at night, are supposed to tell that rain is coming.
