    The following are th cures which were used in the district for the various ailments.

    the person to fill his mouth with cream and keep churning it until butter came on it, the person would get so angry that his anger was supposed to banish the pain.
    A cure for the measles was to roll three times in a pig's bed.
    A cure for the whooping cough, was to hold the person under an asse's body. The clay at lady Well, in Slane, Co Meath was a sure cure for cuts and sores.
    Another practice was to tie a piece of string to a bush at the well, to leave behind some disease.
    In Dowth cemetry Drogheda, Co Meath there was a large font and anyone who had warts, would put a pin into it an the wats would disappear. A cure for carbuncles was to break up a
