    Another custom was strawboys, sometimes they wore straw and blackened their faces, they came to the grooms, house at night, they danced and sang if well treated but if not the made things most uncomfortable for the wedding party inside.
    The first three days one considered the best in the week according to this little rhyme:-
    Monday for health.
    Tuesday for wealth.
    Wednesday the best day of all.
    Thursday for losses.
    Friday for crosses.
    Saturday the worst day of all.
