- Once upon a time there were two brothers. One of them was going to get married to a nice young girl. When the marriage was going to come off this boy would not marry the girl and in a short time after the girl died. After her death it was said that her ghost used to be seen in Crannyosta Lane. One night the boy who refused to marry her was coming home late and she followed him and and caught him and took him down to a bog near-by and drowned him. A few nights after the other brother was coming home from the forge very late and he did not know how he would get past Crannyosta. Before he left the forge he asked the black-smith to make a knife out of a piece of iron from the one heat of the fire and to not try it only once. The black-smith did as he told him. He started to make the knife and before long had it made from the one heat of the fire. Off the man started on horse-back with the knife in(continues on next page)
