  1. St Patricks Cross was never heard of in this district. St Brigid's Cross is made in this district. The school- children make the crosses on the feast of St Brigid the first of February. They are made of rushes or draw.
    The cross is not very big but there is a fairly big centre in it.
    When the cross is made it is put over the door or beside a holy picture.
    The meaning of holly at Christmas is "an" angel is supposed to be on every thorne of the holly on Christmas morning.
    The palm is not put in the outhouses.
