    The name of my townland is Charlestown.
    There are fourteen families and sixty four people in it.
    Mc Ardle is the most common name around.
    There are four people over seventy in Charlestown. There names are J Mc Cann , T Rooney, Mrs Roe and Mrs O'Neill their addresses are Charlestown, Ardee, Co Louth
    The houses were all thatched and the old peole said that they were warmer.
    The houses were more numerous in the olden times.
    There are five old ruins in Charlestown.
    A good many people went to America in famine times.
    The land is hilly, boggy and good. There are no woods around here.
