- In the townland of Wottonstown at the south end of the parish of Darver is a field called Black Stick. It gets its name from the thorn bushes which grow around it .Written by Peter McGuinness, Wottonstown, Castlebellingham.
- In Darver townland there is a field called the Court Meadow. This field got its name from the olden days when King William was chasing James from the north to the south. William stayed in this field before the Battle of the Boyne. Some say there was a battle fought in this field.Written by John Campell, Darver, Dundalk.
- Close to this field is a hill called Mannrac Hill. In the famine years this was a very high hill and there was great difficulty in getting a horse and cart up it. Then(continues on next page)
