    2. On the day that they came to evict him
    Dan Murphy got up on the roof,
    Although they fired cannons and pistols
    His old clothes must have been bullet proof.
    Then he fired a hen's egg at the bailiff,
    It was one of last year's, I'm sure
    With the force of the smell, the old bailiff fell
    Like a corpse outside Dan Murphy's door
    3. The Bailiff, he shouted for water
    And we fetched him a bucketful hot
    And as it flowed down through his whiskers
    Sure he near tied his face in a knot
    Then if you were there for to see them
