    Famous Storyteller:
    There is only one good storyteller in Channonrock. Owen Dooley. He said the stories were handed down to him from his father who could speak Irish.
    Old Schools:
    There where two hedge schools in Channonrock one of which I have written about and another that was behind Ned Duffy's house but none seems to know anything about it. The Old Monastery in Louth was also a great school.

    An ass's winkers are thrown over the childs shoulders and she is drawn in and out of the pigs stable three times while she says " Leena Lana, Hucna, Mucna".
    Cure for toothache:
    To fill the mouth with buttermilk
    Cure for boil:
    Bottle filled with boiling water, emptied immediately and as quick as lighting laid on the
