  1. There is a stream in Louth called the Friars Stream or Saint Mochtas Stream. It runs at the bottom of the Church field. There are the ruins of Saint Mochtas Monastery in the same field.
When the monks were living in the Monastery they used to wash themselves in the stream and there is a cure in the water for sore eyes. The person has to go there and bathe the eyes in the water and continue going till they are better.
There is also a cure for rheumatics in the water.
We are told that the stream followed Saint Mochta to Armagh.
