    As I lie down this night to sleep,
    I pray to God, my soul to keep,
    St. Mathew, Mark, Luke and John,
    God bless the bed that I lie on.
    There are four corners on my bed,
    There are four angels round me spread
    As I look up, as I look down,
    As I look over the heaven's ground
    I see the Virgin Mary coming,
    Seven Mass Books in her hand,
    Seven priests singing, seven bells ringing
    Rise up, oh Lamb of God
