oaten-meal bread, and boxty bread. Sometimes bread was made from wheat grown locally. Long ago the old people baked every-day.
The bread was baked in a big oven the size of the overns that we have now. The bread was also baked in front of the fire against a suppot.
There was a special kind of bread made for parties, weddings and feasts. Water was added in kneading if the milk was thick. There was a cross put on top of the cake with a knife so that it would not burst when it would swell.
