  1. There are two forges in the locality Mr Hardy's and Mr McKeown's. Their fathers and grandfathers before them were smiths also. Mr Hardy's forge is situated on the Dublin Road, about two miles this side of Dundalk. It is not very far from our house so I often go over and watch him shoeing the horses and asses which come to the shop. The door is the same shape as all the doors in the parish but much wider.
