  1. It Carlingford Lough a few years ago a disaster occurred between the "SS Alder" and the "ss Lady Cava [?]" There was a fog out that day and one ship was going up the lough and another coming down. The captain of the "Alder" realised the danger too late and the two ships met in the middle of the lough. The "Alder" suffered the most damage and the captain, his wife and one of the crew were drowned.
