  1. "Silly Johnny" is a common visitor in the district. He goes around from house to house begging food and money. He sleeps in old ruins and behind haystacks.
    "Tom the Diddle" is another traveller who goes around the district buying dead horses. He skins them and sells their skins to tanners.
    Ann Jeffers is another old traveller who used to lodge in Betty Mc Grehan's house at Gules Quay.
    "Ellen the Chaw" is another traveller who goes around in a donkey and cart giving delph and tin porringers in exchange for bags of rags. This old woman has a cure for the mumps.
