  1. Burns | A certain person is to lick a mancreeper and then that person can cure burns. Another cure is a poultice of soda and buttermilk. Dip a rag in paraffin oil and rub it to the burn.
    Consumption | Mullen plant of pigs lug, and a plant called bog-bane.
    Colds | Bath feet in a hot mustard bath.
    Cuts | Chew a piece of carpenter leaf and apply it to the cut. Cold water spilled on the cut will stop it from bleeding. Brown paper wrapped tightly round the cut also stops it from bleeding.
