    Funny Story.

    A long time ago there was a man who one day was out on the mountain near my home, on business. I do not know what he had to do on the mountain as he was not from there and I do not know here he came from. This man's name was Mr Rice. While e was on the mountain night came on. There are some details at this part of the story which I must omit as the person who told me the story forgets them. Very soon he found himself on a calf's back and was travelling over the country. He came to a place eight miles north west of Bellurgan, called Jonesboro and then he came to many other places. Before he started on his journey he was told not to speak one word but to keep silent and now comes the best part of the story. They came to a wide river, and as we all know a calf is not a very good jumper, but lo! he gave one jump and reached the other side. The other man was overcame with wonder and he exclaimed -
