  1. A story 12th 11-34 there is a very big stone to be seen on the Mourne mountains called the Cloughmore(Cloc-mór) and it is supposed to be one of the largest separate rocks in Ireland
It is believed that this stone once was on Fataig mountain and one day a giant named Fionn was hunting on Fataig (Fathaigh), and while he was on the Carlingford side of the mountains he saw another giant on the Mourne mountains on the opposite side of Carlingford lough, and they began to fight with stones.
They fought for three days and on the fourth day the giant Fionn lifted this huge stone ad hurdled it across the lough, and it hit the other giant and drove him into the ground at the spot where the Cloughmore (stone) now stands. This stone can be seen from Omeath on fine days.
