  1. Ladywell
    This is a holy well connected with Kilwirra and situated in a marshy portion of an adjoining field to the graveyard, and about a hundred yards due east of it. Until about fifteen years ago it was a more or less heart shaped hole, about from four to five feet in diameter, and from three to four feet deep - the water being about a foot deep. The bottom of this well was always very muddy and the water anything but clean. To the west side of the well was a raised earthen mound, with occasional stones to be found under the surface. A late curate of this parish, Revd. J.M. Quinn C.C., and now of Armagh City took a special interest in the well. The well is situated in a field belonging to Mr. Daniel Finegan of Templetown. Fr. Quinn had purchased from Mr. Finegan a plot of ground about 3/4 rood surrounding the well, and had this plot made parochial property, with also a right of way from the plot leading due south to the county road.
