  1. A sore throat:
    Tie a stocking round your neck going to bed at night and it will cure it.
    For warts:
    Get a snail and tie it to a bush and as the snail withers, the wart does likewise.
    A cough:
    Take a drink of hot buttermilk going to bed at night and it will cure it.
    A sore ear:
    Put cotton wool in it and it will cure it.
    For a horse with colic:
    Drench her with hot ale and ground ginger.
    For a horses cold:
    Get dock leaves and boil them and give them to her.
