  1. A Flood
In the month of October in the year eighteen hundred and eighty eight, a great storm occurred in this district. The Ardaghy River became flooded, and large stones and river banks were swept away. Man fields in the district were entirely covered with sand and stones after the flood. The potatoes, which had not been dug, were carried off, and the Lislea road was so badly damaged, that in many places large holes were to be seen.
