  1. The patron saint of this parish is The Blessed Virgin under the Assumption and the patron day is the fifteenth of August.
    The chapel is called the chapel of the Assumption. The name of the parish was got from St Ruadan who lived in the parish and was buried in the moat Tulac Ruadain [Tullaroan] means the grave of St. Ruadan.
    Every year on the feast of the Assumption people come to the parish graveyard, which is about a quarter of a mile from the chapel, to clean and dress the graves.
