  1. A man by the name of O Donnell who lived in Turranree in the parish of Glin, was cutting turf in the bog. He unearthed a silver tray. He took the tray home with him. When the landlord of the bog heard about it, he sent for O Donnell and demanded the tray.
    People said it was worth about £ 30 because of its size and weight. The landlord's name was Major Kiggell who lived at Cahara House Glin. He did not give O Donnell one shilling for the tray.
