  1. About fifty or sixty years ago there was a hedge-school in the townlandof Cortaghart. It now gets the name of a shrubbery. This field belongs to Michael Kerr.
    The teacher's name is not known. He lodged in the neighbouring houses.
    The people around whose children attended the school sent the master money every week. He was a stranger.
    A man named Patrick Conlan is supposed to have attended this school.
