  1. Colonel Wyndham had another school at Glendine, about a mile east of Miltown Malbay. Mr Samuel Ball, a Limerick man, was the teacher and was a nice old Gentleman.
The tenants of the district had to draw his turf without hire every Summer, but he treated them well.
Father Fahy, C.C. Miltown Malbay and Mr Ball had a row on the road one day. The Priest went to stop some children from going to the school and he and Mr Ball gripped each other. Mr Ball summoned Father Fahy to court and he got one month in jail. An old man who had no English, said, when giving evidence in court "Do leag an Saggy (Sagart) Ball, agus do leag Ball an Saggy."
This house is still standing, and since Mr Ball and his family left, it has been occupied by Catholic tenants.
The road where this row took place used to split during the heat Summer, but the people used to say that it was on account of the Protestant knocking the Priest. The old people used to say:-
"Féach an áit 'na leag an Diabhal an Sagart."
